WordPress 4.6 is out with a Brainstorm Shark among Core Contributors

WordPress 4.6 was released few hours ago and it is named “Pepper”, in honor of jazz baritone saxophonist Park Frederick “Pepper” Adams III.

Here are some highlights this version brings:

  • Update Improvement – Updating your themes and plugins has got shiny! This means no more switching between pages while you update, install or delete themes and plugins.
  • Native Fonts – WordPress now uses your native system fonts. This will result in a slightly faster backend performance.
  • Editor Backups – Your content is now automatically saved in the browser so you can restore it from browser backups when needed.
  • Editor Link Checker – The editor will now highlight if you’re adding a broken link. Making sure your links are right!

There are a few under the hood improvements that improve the core for developers as well. Please take a look at the WordPress blog for more information.

For us, at Brainstorm Force, it is the 3rd WordPress release where our team member has contributed code to the WordPress core. We have checked all our products for compatibility and we are happy to inform you that there are absolutely no issues!

In the rarest of cases, if you come across anything, please feel free to get in touch. We’d be happy to help!
